2026 Kingfish Tournament Rules

This is a beach tournament with a 3-mile east nautical boundary. The north boundary is the Brunswick inlet and the south boundary is the Cocoa Beach pier.

You may leave from any inlet. Fishing will be from 7 AM - 6 PM on Saturday, June 20th. Any kingfish caught outside of these hours will be disqualified.

This is a no checkout tournament.
-
No purchased or pinned live bait permitted. All live bait must be caught the day of the tournament. No leaving the 3-mile east boundary to catch live bait. No transferring of bait from boat to boat.

Once fish is caught, a photo with the fish, official tournament boat number, and the beach in the background MUST be submitted ASAP to tournament committee. All photos MUST be submitted by 7 PM on Saturday, June 20th via text to 904-806-8110 or the fish will be disqualified.

Weigh-in will take place on Sunday, June 21st at Fishbites Trading Post (170 Nix Boat Yard Road, Saint Augustine, FL 32084) starting at 8 AM. You must be in line by 10 AM.

No electric reels.

Please remove all hooks from the fish before weigh-in.

Junior and lady anglers do NOT have to fight the fish from start to finish to qualify. If assistance is required, crew member may assist where needed and rod will be given back to the junior or lady angler to finish the catch.

Junior anglers must be 15 years old or younger as of June 20th to qualify for junior angler prizes. Junior angler fish WILL NOT be counted towards general tournament prizes. A max of FIVE fish can be weighed and qualify for junior angler prizes.

Lady anglers must be at least 16 years old as of June 20th to qualify for lady angler prizes. Only ONE lady angler fish WILL be counted towards general tournament prizes. A max of TWO fish can be weighed and qualify for lady angler prizes.

Lady anglers and junior anglers will be declared at time of weigh-in.

Each boat can only win ONE prize excluding calcuttas, lady and junior angler. A max of TWO fish can be weighed regardless if in the aggregate calcutta. Fish weighed for the general tournament WILL count towards closest weigh prizes. Fish weighed for the junior angler division WILL NOT count towards closest weight prizes.

In the event of a tie, time of weigh-in will determine the winner.

TWT calcutta options include: $100 Big Fish, $100 Two Fish Aggregate, $100 First Responder (must be active or retired first responder or military to be qualified for this calcutta), $250 High Roller.

Boats must follow all state fishing laws.

The tournament committee has the right to change rules at any time.
